Infant, Child & Teen Therapy
Helping Your Child Grow, Communicate, and Thrive
Every child develops in their own way, and therapy should honor that individuality. I use a DIR/Floortime approach, where following your child’s lead is central to building connection, supporting regulation, and nurturing developmental growth. Whether your child is an infant, curious toddler, a school-aged kid, or a teen, therapy is tailored to match their unique strengths, interest, and sensory needs.
What Does Developmentally Informed Therapy Look Like?
This means:
Understanding your child’s nervous system and sensory needs
Supporting emotional regulation and co-regulation
Building skills through playful, meaningful interactions
Valuing your child’s individual pace, preferences, and abilities
It’s therapy that is built around your child—not the other way around.
Developmentally informed therapy focuses on strengthening the foundations of emotional regulation, communication, and connection.
We look beyond behaviors to understand what your child is communicating through movement, play, or sensory responses.
What is my approach?
I support you and your child through:
Play, Art & Special-Interest-Based Therapy – Sessions integrate play, art, and your child’s special interests to make therapy engaging, safe, and meaningful.
Caregiver Involvement – Caregivers are active partners in therapy, whether joining sessions or staying involved through ongoing communication and parent check-ins.
Sensory-Friendly & Flexible Environment – My office can be adapted to your child’s sensory needs, with tools like a trampoline, bean bags, and adjustable lighting to support regulation.
Collaborative care – coordinating with occupational therapists, educators, medical providers, and other support professionals to ensure your child’s care feels integrated and consistent across all areas of your life.
Pediatric Sleep Support (0-5) – I hold a pediatric sleep intervention certification and developmentally informed sleep support when helpful.
My work is grounded in the DIR/Floortime model, which allows me to focus on supporting children exactly where they are developmentally and emotionally through connection and play. I believe deeply in the power of early support—especially for neurodivergent children—as it builds strong foundations for regulation, communication, and lifelong growth.
Have more questions?
-
Yes. Parent involvement is welcomed and encouraged. Whether you join depends on your child’s goals, developmental stage, and regulation needs. We can decide together what level of involvement will support your child best.
-
The first session is play-based and centered on connection. Your child will explore the space at their pace while I observe communication, sensory preferences, and comfort level. We will also discuss your concerns, strengths, and goals. No pressure, no expectations — just a chance to get to know each other.
-
This is completely okay. Many children communicate through play, art, movement, or nonverbal cues. Therapy does not require talking — we follow your child’s lead and build communication and trust gradually.
-
Yes, depending on age and needs. Some children do well virtual (especially older children and teens), while others benefit more from in-person support. We can discuss what feels appropriate.
-
Absolutely. Your child is welcome to bring anything that helps them feel safe and regulated — stuffed animals, blankets, fidgets, or special toys. I also have weighted blankets, stuffed toys, and other sensory toys to help your child feel comfortable.
